Tafelberg Trail Co started as a gear-swap between two trail runners in Muizenberg — now we outfit hikers and runners across South Africa.

How we got here

2016

A gear-swap in Muizenberg

Two friends trading worn-out trail shoes at a braai realised there was no proper local shop that understood Cape trails.

2018

First store on Kloof Nek Road

We opened our doors two minutes from the trailhead, stocking only gear we'd tested ourselves.

2021

Nationwide online shop launches

Hikers and runners across South Africa could finally order our curated range with 48-hour delivery.

2024

4,800+ trail-goers kitted out

From first-time Lion's Head hikers to Comrades runners, our community keeps growing.

Before a product reaches our shelves, someone on our team has carried it up Platteklip Gorge, run it through a soaked Newlands Forest, or worn it on a multi-day Overberg trail. If it doesn't earn its place in a pack, we don't stock it.
